You might have seen me or heard my voice over the past several months as the receptionist. My role of making sure things are handled is still the same; just from a different seat as I transition to a Legal Assistant position. While my title may have changed, one thing remains the same: my commitment to serving our clients and helping create a positive experience during what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming process.
When I first joined the firm, I knew the importance of estate planning. Like many people, I understood the basics of wills and trusts, but I quickly learned that estate planning is about so much more than documents. It's about protecting families, preserving legacies, planning for the unexpected, and helping people gain peace of mind about the future.
One of the things that has surprised me most is how personal this area of law can be.
Every family has different goals, concerns, and stories. No two clients are exactly alike, and I've come to appreciate the trust our clients place in us when they share those stories and allow us to be part of their planning journey.
This role has also pushed me outside of my comfort zone in the best possible ways.
From learning new legal concepts to taking on greater responsibilities and becoming more involved in community outreach, I've discovered that growth often begins where comfort ends. Some of my biggest lessons have come from simply being willing to ask questions, try something new, and embrace opportunities that felt intimidating at first.

Perhaps the most rewarding part of this journey has been the people I've had the opportunity to learn from.
I am fortunate to work alongside an incredible team of women who genuinely support, encourage, and challenge one another. We celebrate each other's successes, share knowledge freely, and push each other to keep growing. Watching colleagues create new opportunities for themselves while cheering on the success of others has shown me what true leadership and teamwork look like.
That spirit of support does not stop there.
It extends beyond our office walls and into the community we serve.
Whether we're helping clients plan for the future, participating in local events, or building relationships throughout our community and with other professionals, I've learned that meaningful work is ultimately about people and connections.
As I continue growing in my role, I'm excited to keep learning, developing new skills, and serving our clients in new ways. I'm grateful for the opportunities I've been given, the mentors who have guided me, and the clients who trust us during some of life's most important decisions.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and serve alongside this incredible team.
Sincerely,
Kacey Bender, Legal Assistant
