“OMG. I cannot take this anymore. It’s like watching food porn,” my husband groaned the evening of day 3 of our five day fast together last month.

Prolon FMDI was actually doing my third fast with ProLon FMD which I wrote about here. Andrew was on his second fast.

Andrew was cutting his fast short and this was his last day but he could hardly stand it as we watched a movie with amazing restaurant dining scenes. The food on the boob tube was just too much for Andrew to handle.

“I’m going to bed. I can’t stand this anymore.”

It was seven o’clock.

I followed not too long thereafter. I too was hungry and sleep seemed like the easiest way to not succumb to my cravings.

After reading for about an hour in bed listening to Andrew softly snoring, he suddenly stumbled out of bed and started padding toward the bedroom door, still half asleep.

“Where are you going?,” I innocently asked him.

After a long pause, Andrew replied sheepishly, “No where.”

“You know that you can’t eat yet until after midnight, right?”

Another pause, then I heard in the dark, “shit.”

And back Andrew came to bed.

As far as I know, Andrew did make it until after midnight to break his fast. (I was long asleep so I can’t verify for sure.)

And I finished my last two days of the fast.

Although just as tough as the first two fasts, the results have been worth it.

Andrew has lost twenty pounds on his one and half fasts and I have lost fifteen pounds over my three fasts.

Plus, I just received the results of my recent blood lab work and my triglycerides have dropped twenty points and my overall cholesterol by five points. My genetically high cholesterol is one of the reasons I started fasting in the first place.

Another fun byproduct of losing weight is that running is sooo much easier now which will really come in handy for my upcoming 50K in a couple of weeks.

Although you may not particularly care about my fasting, the good news for you is that you now know that I am an extremely disciplined person, both in my personal and work life.

When I make a commitment to help a client, I am all in and clients know that they can count on our office to get things done.

There will be no more fasting for me for a few months with my upcoming race schedule. I also think it’s safe to assume Andrew won’t be fasting any time soon either.
