“Holy overstimulation.”

I thought to myself as I took a few deep breaths on our ferry ride across the lake.

My family - including my sister, her crew, and my mom - recently took a trip to Disney World.

We stayed at a Disney resort, did the princess breakfast, and got the full, immersive experience.

We walked 20+ miles in 3 days – most of those miles with a 25-pound toddler on my hip.

I was sort of a grinch during the planning stages of this trip because I don’t know that much about it. There are so many parks, apps, and “extras” – like a fast pass. What the heck is that?!

It felt like information overload to dip my toe in the “Disney Planning” blogs and so I was less than enthusiastic about it.

So, do you know what we did to make sure our trip was planned appropriately for 4 young children without getting a degree in Disney?

We worked with a Magical Vacation Disney planner!

Yep! That’s a thing! She was completely free to us, and SO, SO KNOWLEDGEABLE.

She assessed the needs of our group and made suggestions on the order in which we should visit the parks, the times that would be best, events we shouldn’t miss, and even made reservations for us at restaurants she suggested based on our preferences.

DisneyThe looks on my children’s and nieces’ faces when the princesses approached them at breakfast seriously brought tears to my eyes. They were completely in awe.

Excited squeals validated every bit of the logistics required to make the trip happen.

Upon our return, a friend said that a trip to Disney World is a trip, while a trip to a resort on a beach is a vacation.

I believe I agree now.

While it may not have been a “vacation” for us adults, it was totally magical for our children.

It is, after all, our loved ones who benefit from all the planning we do.

While the intricacies of planning a trip with so many moving parts, parks, and people put me in shut down mode, working with someone who is familiar with the process and the subject matter made our trip completely seamless.

I simply showed up, put my Minnie Mouse ears on, and mentally prepared myself for the adventure that was to come.

Many of our estate planning clients come to us this way.

The overwhelm of trying to research and learn everything about end-of-life decisions and estate planning can be real.

The stress of getting a plan in place lingers on their to-do list because they simply don’t know where to start.

They don’t know who to name, how to structure their assets, or what plan is the right one for their situation.

So, do you know what I recommend?

Work with a professional who is familiar with the process and the subject matter.
