No Post-Snowstorm Regrets

“Aren’t you going to regret missing out on the snowstorm of the Century in Pensacola?,” I read in a comment on one of my recent Facebook posts.

I thought to myself, “Heck no!”

I have seen my share of the cold and snow to last me a lifetime, having been born in Maine and spending four years at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, during which I wore long johns 24/7 four months of the year.

Hence, when we received a text alert on January 17^th from the airlines that our upcoming flight to Mexico would likely be cancelled because of the incoming storm projected for that day, we jumped at the chance to get out of dodge a few days early.

While you were enjoying eight inches of fluffy white snow in Pensacola, my mom, husband, and I were enjoying the sunny warm weather in Mexico.

I suppose if we did not already have plans to go out of town, the snow would have been a fun novelty to frolic in. But, having spent many years shoveling out my car and freezing my buns off, I have no regrets on missing the snowstorm of the Century.

To each one’s own, right?!
