I hate clutter and I despise messes.

I once heard a story of a mom who, when her child spilled a gallon milk all over the kitchen floor, encouraged her son to play around in it before they cleaned up the mess.

Something about encouraging her son’s creativity or some s*#% like that.

Not me, man! Messes like that seriously stress me out.

Now don’t get me wrong.

I’m not a clean freak per se á la Jerry Seinfeld but I'm most definitely a clutter freak.

I’m serious. I will reject a place on VRBO if the photos show the decor is cluttered.

I rejected a lot of great apartment options in Italy for our upcoming trip because of the clutter in the photographs.

I mean really, people. I struggle with containing clutter at home. Why would I want to spend my vacation living in it too? That's not a relaxing vacation to me!

I’m constantly picking up after my family. Read more here.

I try really hard in my own life to contain the mess that the rest of my family has no problem creating and living with.

Drew's messy room.jpg

Yes, this was a kid's bedroom before I cleaned it up one weekend. Yikes!

I'm also an organizational junkie. Everything in its place and all. Drives me crazy to find keys and loose change strewn around the tabletops.

So as a neat freak and organizational wizard, I sure as hell don't want to inherit someone else's mess to clean up.

Unfortunately, I come from a long line of hoarders. I won’t bore you with the details (not the mention the fact that my family would probably kill me for airing any specific dirty laundry to you) but suffice it to say that I will likely have my work cut out for me when my parents pass away.

Perhaps because clutter and disorganization personally drives me so crazy, I founded My Pink Lawyer® with a mission to help women organize their affairs for an ORDERLY, hassle-free transition of their assets and “stuff” to their loved ones.

We choose to work with women and families that are willing to invest some time and energy NOW with our help and guidance to get their affairs and paperwork in order to make the transition to the next generation as simple as possible.

Do not let your final legacy to your kids be a mess for them to clean up when you're gone. (Mom, are you reading this?)

As my son would say, “That's just rude!”
